Agape Childrens Home, Sihanoukville

With eight children living in the Home, six return to their villages in the weekend to help their mothers make brooms. Two children are orphans and remain in the home permanently.

There are two house mothers that care for the children, helping them with their health and education. These children are beautifully behaved and very much loved. The Trust pays $40 US per child per month to meet the costs running the home, providing for their health needs, education, clothing and food.

 Sponsorship

Our general school support provides stationery for all students, uniforms, library books and teaching mateirals. However, less than 50% of the students are girls.

Many girls are sent to work or are kept at home to care for siblings. One of the Millenium Development Goals is to ensure all children, boys and girls, complete Primary School education. To do this we need to support the most at risk girls to help them remain at school.

Many of these girls are either orphans or have been left in teh care of neighbours or relatives while their parents leave the Country in search of work.

We provide support to the equvialvent of $25 US ($35 NZ) a month which effectively replaces the girls wages. We have 148 girls sponsored at the moment and others that need support.
